The College of Industrial Technology in Misrata organized an intensive and important workshop on the development of Libyan scientific journals on the morning of Thursday, October 2, 2025. The workshop was held in the college auditorium, in coordination with the "Scientific Journals Development Program" team affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The workshop witnessed a high-level official attendance, led by Professor Dr. Taher Mohammed bin Taher, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education for Colleges and Higher Institutes, and Dr. Ali Ahmed Salem, the Director of the Office of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Dr. Abu Al-Qasim Abdul Fattah Al-Akhdar, a faculty member at the Jadu Engineering College, had a pivotal participation; he, in collaboration with Engineer Mohamed Fouad Baleh, presented a detailed proposal for the improvement plan of the "Technical Research Journal."

The workshop also included scientific topics that focused on enhancing publishing standards, where the national team for the development of scientific journals presented two main interventions:

Dr. Khaled Imran Al-Akrouti presented a lecture on scientific research and writing scientific papers.

Dr. Ahmed Attia discussed the criteria for including scientific journals in the Libyan electronic guide for journals - the second update for the year 2026.

In addition, the Director General of the Engineering Assets Center / Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies presented a paper on the role of engineering asset management in achieving the strategic objectives of industrial institutions.

The workshop concluded with an extensive discussion session to exchange opinions and recommendations. It was also attended by the team responsible for the national program for the development of scientific journals, the management of the engineering assets center, along with a large number of academics, researchers, and those interested in scientific affairs.
