About the Department
The field of civil engineering is considered one of the most prestigious disciplines in engineering colleges worldwide due to the diverse job opportunities it offers. The work of a civil engineer encompasses many engineering aspects, such as the design, construction, and maintenance of various engineering structures like buildings (of different types and uses), bridges, roads, dams, water reservoirs, water supply and irrigation networks, and sewage systems. Additionally, the civil engineer plays a significant role in testing various construction materials, managing engineering projects, calculating quantities and costs, and finding suitable solutions to soil and foundation problems. They also propose and design appropriate construction methods and actively participate in traffic studies, environmental studies, and assessing the environmental impact of various projects. Given the comprehensive nature of the civil engineer's role and to achieve the department's goals of graduating qualified civil engineers, the civil engineering curriculum at the Faculty of Engineering in Jadu / Nalut University has been designed to cover all the mentioned aspects. The Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering in Jadu was established as one of the first three departments that the college started with in the academic year 1991-1992.
