About the Department

 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Jadu Engineering College is considered one of the first three departments established by the college in the academic year 1992-1993. It is a fundamental pillar in any civilizational and industrial progress and prosperity, both in terms of quality and the numerous important applications in our daily lives. The department aims to meet the needs of the Libyan community and the region by offering high-quality programs in mechanical and industrial engineering in education, scientific research, and community service. The Department of Mechanical Engineering grants a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering after successfully completing no less than 155 credit hours in the following elective specializations:

▪ Mechanical Power Engineering

▪ Industrial Engineering and Production

.

The department aims to graduate distinguished engineers in the field of mechanical and industrial engineering who possess a high degree of knowledge and competence, are committed to the values and ethics of the profession, and have a spirit of leadership instilled in them through teaching them skills in creativity, analysis, effective communication, and outstanding teamwork. It also aims to instill a spirit of knowledge acquisition and continuous learning, as well as contribute ideas and projects that contribute to community development.

Leadership and scientific excellence in the field of mechanical and industrial engineering, and the preparation and graduation of specialized and distinguished scientific cadres according to the latest accredited global curricula.

  1. Graduating engineering professionals in the field of mechanical and industrial engineering who are capable of seizing development opportunities while practicing their profession in the areas of design, implementation, and operation.
  2. Providing extensive knowledge in science, mathematics, and engineering to students and developing their scientific abilities so that they are capable of conducting research and scientific studies.
  3. Collaborating with the research community and relevant local and international institutions, and providing engineering consultations and scientific solutions to engineering problems within the community.
  4. The optimal and best utilization of the department's capabilities and resources, elevating it to standard local and international levels, and using modern technology to develop students' abilities.
  5. Providing students with leadership and teamwork skills so they can leverage their abilities in their work within industrial institutions.

Department Head's Speech

I am pleased to welcome you to the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, which is one of the vital departments in the college. It aims to prepare engineers who are academically and professionally qualified, possessing the skills and knowledge necessary to keep up with scientific and technological developments in the fields of mechanical design, energy production, industrial production, and systems analysis. Additionally, the mechanical engineer represents the main force in the processes of power generation, water desalination, and the operation and management of oil companies.

The department aims to provide high-quality educational programs, supported by distinguished academic competencies, and a learning environment that fosters creativity and innovation. We also pay special attention to scientific research and partnerships with industrial sectors, contributing to community service and achieving sustainable development.

In the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, we are committed to academic excellence and continuously work on developing our programs and curricula in line with labor market requirements and global quality standards.

The Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is awarded by the Jadu Engineering College at Nalut University in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the Bachelor’s degree granting instructions at Nalut University.
